Gwyneth's Gift Foundation Announces New Director of Operations and Staff to Drive Growth and Expand Impact 

Fredericksburg, VA – Gwyneth’s Gift Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to promoting heart health and preventing sudden cardiac death, is thrilled to announce the addition of three new staff members and a well-deserved promotion to its team. With remarkable growth and impact, the Foundation proudly anticipates reaching its Hands-Only CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training goal of 4,000 individuals four months ahead of schedule, further solidifying its commitment to creating a Culture of Action and saving lives in the community!  

 

Veronica Gutierrez, former Event Manager with Gwyneth’s Gift Foundation, brings her wealth of expertise and dedication to her new role as Director of Operations and Community Engagement. With a deep understanding of the Foundation’s mission, Veronica’s leadership will drive the organization to new heights.

 

Joining the team as the Program Manager, Kyle Dobyns comes in with extensive experience in program management and community engagement from Germanna Community College. In this capacity, Kyle will oversee the Foundation’s existing programs and developing new initiatives to further to advance the organization’s mission.  

 

As the Public Relations Manager, Jo Ann Dinwoodie, will be responsible for raising awareness of the Foundation’s work and impact in the community. Her previous role as Director of Communications of Semper Fi Fund has sharpened her skills in public relations and marketing, and she will be instrumental in developing strategic marketing and communications plans to elevate the Foundation’s profile.

 

The Foundation also welcomes Erin Matuczinski as the new Development and Organizational Coordinator. With a background in fundraising and organizational management from the University of Mary Washington, Erin’s expertise will be pivotal in expanding the Foundation’s reach and impact.

Gwyneth’s Gift Foundation was established in memory of Gwyneth Griffin, a Stafford teen who tragically passed away suddenly when she collapsed at school from sudden cardiac arrest. The Foundation’s mission is to promote heart health and raise awareness of sudden cardiac arrest, a leading cause of death in young people.

 

As the Foundation’s team continues to grow, the collective efforts of Veronica, Kyle, Jo Ann, and Erin will undoubtedly bring new opportunities to create positive change and make a lasting impact on countless lives. Together, they will lead the charge in driving the Foundation’s mission forward and ensuring a healthier, heart-safe community for all.

Joel Griffin

Chairman & Co-Founder

Joel Griffin is co-founder and chairman of Gwyneth’s Gift Foundation. Gwyneth’s Gift was founded in 2015 by Joel and Jennifer Griffin in honor of their oldest daughter, Gwyneth. He is also an entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist with 25 years of private industry consulting experience and 20 years in government contracting. He is the Founder and CEO of Riphean, a regional growth management firm.

Joel is committed to philanthropy within the region through local nonprofits and organizations that strengthen local communities. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Fredericksburg Regional Alliance, Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, Stafford Hospital Foundation, and Germanna Educational Foundation. Joel was recognized for his impact and leadership within the region, receiving the Prince B. Woodward Leadership Award in 2022.

In addition to the regional award, Joel received the Valor Award from Loudon County for his life-saving efforts in an emergency. He also received the Patriotic Civilian Service Award given by the U.S. Army for actions taken immediately and following 9/11 at The Pentagon in 2001.
